Bulge Found on Ganymede

Planetary scientists have discovered a previously unknown 3-km-high equatorial bulge on Jupiter's moon Ganymede, suggesting it formed at the poles and once massive enough rotated on a hidden global ocean separated from the rocky crust of the moon.

Water Found on Exoplanets

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has detected traces of the chemical signature of water in the atmospheres of five different exoplanets (WASP-17b, HD209458b, WASP-12b, WASP-19b and XO-1b) orbiting nearby stars.

Moon and Earth Water Source

New analysis of the hydrogen-deuterium ratios in samples brought back on the Apollo missions shows the residual water left in the lunar soil is of an identical origin to that found on Earth, implying water was already present on Earth at the formation of the Moon 4.5 billion years ago.

Salt Water Grooves on Mars

Images from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have revealed narrow grooves that periodically appear on slopes in the warmer regions of Mars that suggest salty water may still flow at rare times on the surface.
